What is WGRF?
We are a bunch of railroad historians focused on documenting the history of railroad locomotives both through the preservation of records as well as through photographs. The most disciplined WGRF members settle for nothing less than perfectly lit and posed roster photos of locomotives taken on color slide film, and trade these images with others. Other members are less disciplined but still share the same core interest of documenting the history both through data preservation as well as digital photographs.
We take pride in being able to safely watch the railroad scene from the outside, and when invited onto properties following all safety rules and wearing proper PPE. Many of our members are either previously or currently employed in the railroad industry.
